Featured Story
Sedona
Sedona was born at 29 weeks gestation and was in the NICU for the first 5-6months of her life. Sedona overcame severe unilateral Intraventricular Hemorrhage, V/P shunt placement due to hydrocephalous, placement of a G-Tube, and serious infections. She endured multiple surgeries during this time and had an early on diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Navigating the transition to home, handling insurance bureaucracies, organizing an effective daily/weekly schedule, coordinating follow-up medical care, seeking and participating in cutting edge therapies were some of the few hurdles her family faced as part of her post-NICU life. Sedona was diagnosed around 17 months with infantile spasms, a specific form of seizures, likely a result of her specific NICU history. Treatment for these seizures left her severely immunocompromised and Sedona succumbed to the serious infection of E-coli meningitis a few weeks after the seizure diagnosis. support your jouRNey credits our participation in Sedona's life with being the force that provided clarity and focus for our business. Sedona was a miracle in all aspects of the word and it is greatly in her legacy that we at support your jouRNey are passionate and highly motivated to help other families.
